Terra d'Oro Barbera

Terra d'Oro Barbera 2022

Vineyard Notes

Grown in northern Italy for more than 700 years, Barbera has been long celebrated for its role in Barbera d’Alba and Barbera d’Asti. Italian immigrants brought the variety in New World, where today it is often used in blended wines. But when grown here in the rolling hills of Amador, Barbera yields an elegant with layers of fruit and spice, worthy of being featured on its own. We blended Barbera from three of our estate vineyards—Shenandoah, Veauta, Montevina—for this single-varietal bottling.

Winemaker Notes

The overall average skin contact time on this wine is 48 days.  The extended maceration portion (93 day skin contact) gave us a beautiful backbone of earthiness and structure for the wine.

Avissi Prosecco

Avissi Prosecco

Tasting Notes

Brilliant straw-yellow in color with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose offers refreshing flavors of green apple and ripe pear, and a clean, fresh and delicate finish. Serve well-chilled as an aperitif, or with lighter fare or fruit-based desserts. Mix with fresh ingredients for a signature sparkling wine cocktail as well.

92 Points - The Tasting Panel: “Scents of honeysuckle and gardenia are sweet and delicate. The melting bubbles perform gracefully, accenting flavors of linen and orange cream. White rice and Asian pear dot the mid-palate and the finish is redolent of green apple. The liquid is as unique as this wine’s memorable packaging.”- Meridith May

90 Points - VinePair: This affordable bottle shows exactly why we love Prosecco. For under $15, you can have an easy-drinking bottle that's perfect for aperitivo hour or makes for a great Mimosa.- Keith Beavers

Best Buy - Wine Enthusiast: “Fresh berries bring an easy-drinking summer energy, everything bright and uncomplicated. The palate keeps that same breezy vibe, red fruits and bubbles flowing like your playlist’s feel-good hits while staying fresh enough to pour all afternoon.” —Jeff Porter
