Wines we will taste …..

Henners Brut NV

East Sussex, England

Chardonnay 40%, Pinot Noir 35%, Pinot Meunier 25%

Production

Produced using the classical method our Henners Brut NV is a blend of the three classic sparkling grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, grown on both our own clay and neighbouring grower’s chalk soils which complement each other in terms of generosity and finesse. These components are blended each year with small proportions of reserve wine to bring additional depth and structure.  Aged on lees for 3 years it is an elegant, refined wine with great balance and a delicious citrus and orchard fruit backbone.

Tasting notes

Sourdough aromas combine with crunchy green apple fruit to provide a wonderfully welcoming nose. The palate is fine with a lively and persistent mousse. Green apple and pear fruit characters mix with a toasted brioche leesy flavour helping to provide a complex and moreish palate. Balanced acidity and a long finish make this a very classy sparkling wine.

The Arborist:

Wine that Gives Back

More than just a wine, The Arborist is a symbol of our dedication to the environment. Named in tribute to the caretakers of nature, this bold red blend reflects the values that define our brand: craftsmanship, care, and connection to the land.

This Earth Month, we’re proud to amplify our environmental impact by partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation. For every bottle of The Arborist sold during the month of April, Vina Robles will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Arbor Day Foundation to support reforestation efforts across the U.S. To date, our contributions have helped plant over 42,000 trees—and we’re just getting started.

The Arborist is an artful blend of red varieties from six SIP Certified vineyards—specifically Syrah, Petite Sirah and Grenache.

This wine was crafted as an approachable blend that reflects the creativity of our winemaking team. The fruit for each lot was picked during the cooler morning hours and cold soaked for two days prior to fermentation. Various pump-over techniques were implemented during progressive stages of fermentation to enhance fruit extraction and to balance out the tannin structure. The wine was then aged in both small and large-format French, Hungarian and American oak barrels for 18 months to cultivate complexity and a soft, velvety finish.

Tenuta di Sesta 'Poggio d'Arna' IGT Toscana

20% Sangiovese Grosso, 40% Cabernet franc, 40% Merlot.

Wine Advocate: Featuring Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the Tenuta di Sesta Poggio d'Arna is packed tight with the dense fruit and inky black extract that you would primarily associate with Cabernet Franc. This is the dominant force. Aromas of baked plum, tangy rosemary, spice and campfire ash give this full-bodied wine lasting power and unmistakable personality (at an attractively low price). 90 points.

Aquamarine Sauvignon Blanc

Marlborough, New Zealand

Aquamarine Sauvignon Blanc

Classic bright and sassy Marlborough, NZ Sauvignon Blanc: Extroverted and jumping out of the glass, this mouthwatering wine offers grassy, herbal and white grapefruit and peach aromas accented by a vivacious palate of passion fruit, guava, and grapefruit.

Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Dry

NV Cantina Settecani Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Secco (Dry)

Tasting Notes

A deep ruby red color with violet hues. The wine has distinctive aromas of violet, raspberry, fresh plums, and black cherries, combined with notes of spice. As these flavors envelop the palate, offering a nicely balanced experience of generous fruit flavors and bright acidity that fades with a subtle touch of tannins on the finish.

“Aromas of blackberry and blueberry carry over to the dry, savory palate along with graphite and a hint of star anise before an almond close. Racy acidity keeps it fresh while fine-grained tannins lend structure and more finesse than is typical of the variety.”

Alasia, Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG

Piemonte, Italy

Production

The Brachetto variety may have originated in Provence, but today it is grown in much larger quantities in Italy, in particular in Piemonte. The Brachetto vine is delicate, giving low yields from which sweet red wines with the colour and flavour of strawberries are produced. The grapes for Alasia Brachetto d'Acqui are sourced from vineyards in the Monferrato hills in the south of the province of Asti. These south-west facing vineyards are situated at altitudes of 250 and 400m above sea level. The vines have an average age of 20 years and are grown using the low Guyot trellis system. Soil is limestone clay. The grapes are hand harvested toward the end of August. The crushed grapes are chilled in stainless steel and kept in contact with the skins for 2-3 days. Grapes are pressed in a modern pnuematic press and the must is fermented in a pressurised tank, but fermentation is halted to leave 5.5% ABV.

Tasting notes

Bright and aromatic with fresh crushed raspberries, violets and dried rose petals. The palate is juicy and lightly sparkling, and bursting with fresh grape and red berry fruit. The sweetness is perfectly balanced by mouth-watering acidity and a delicately fragrant finish.
